Description
The USCG MLCP, Alameda, CA, is considering a small business HubZone set-aside contract for the Drydock and Repair of USCGC MAPLE, during the period of 6 Oct through 30 Nov 2004. The MAPLE is a 225? buoy tender, home moorage of Sitka, AK. Following are some of the work items to be accomplished; modify weather deck fuel vents, forecastle improvements, propulsion shaft seal mechanical overhaul, propulsion shaft bearings (external) check clearances, propeller inspect & clean, ship service diesel generator exhaust stack uptake commercial clean, fwd scan sonar hoist general maintenance, sea valves renew/overhaul, potable water pneumatic tank relief valves renew, rudder stock bearings check clearance, thruster unit overhaul, sewage holding tanks commercial clean, anchor chain preserve, buoy and cargo crane level 2 inspect and repair, boat boom level 2 inspect and repair, drydocking and temporary services. The HubZone firm must meet the requirements of (FAR 52.219-3) which states ?at least 50% of the cost of personnel for contract performance will be spent for employees of the concern or employees of other HUBZone small business concerns?. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 336611 with a size standard of less than 1,000 employees. Firms that have been certified as small business HubZone by the SBA and are interested in this acquisition, must submit the following information: (a) company name and address; (b) Company?s POC, including telephone and facsimile numbers and e-mail address; (c) HubZone certification to Rebecca Budde at rbudd@d11.uscg.mil, not later than 7 May 2004. A decision whether this will be pursued as a HubZone small business set-aside or not will be posted on www.eps.gov on or about 14 May 2004.
