Description

This Decommissioning project consists of three sites: Cachuma Saddle Station, Pendola Station and Lions Canyon Campground on the Los Padres National Forest, Santa Barbara County, CA. The project work includes building demolition, hazardous material removal, well abandonment, removal of asphalt roadways, camping spurs and parking areas, removal and placement of rock barriers, project areas shall be graded and sloped to conform with existing terrain ? restoring sites to original landscape condition, construct earth and rock berm. Miscellaneous items to be demolitioned and removed: concrete walkways, concrete decking, concrete ? wood ? rock retaining walls, steel radio tower with concrete footing, wood foot bridge with abutments, underground fire hose vaults, LPG tanks, aboveground fuel tank, septic tanks, leachfields, aboveground plumbing to be stubbed and capped 2-foot below ground, removal of all tables, fire grills, concrete trash pads and any miscellaneous camp site materials and debris. All material and debris designated by the Government shall be removed from the sites, unless identified for salvage as Government property. Note: A fourth site, Beaver Campground will be identified as a Bid Additive for this project. The work for this site includes: building demolition, well abandonment, removal of asphalt roadways, camping spurs and parking area, removal of all tables, fire grills, any miscellaneous camp site materials and debris, concrete trash pads, metal pipe barriers and wood barriers, and removal of all aboveground plumbing and utilities to a 2-foot depth below ground and capped. Project area shall be graded and sloped to conform with existing terrain ? restoring site to original landscape condition. Aphalt surfaced entrance road shall be decommissioned, removing all asphalt materials, metal barriers and obliterating roadway alignment, then restoring to original landscape and terrain. Directions to locations. Cachuma Saddle: From Los Olivos, CA proceed southeast on State Hwy 154 approximately 10 miles, then north on Armour Ranch Road approximately 3 miles, then northeast on Happy Canyon Road for approximately 16 miles to Cachuma Saddle Station. Pendola: Beginning in Santa Barbara, CA at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 101 and State Hwy 154, proceed north on State Hwy 154 for 0.7 miles to State Hwy 192, then proceed east on State Hwy 192 for 4.3 miles to Mountain Road, proceed north on Mountain Road for 0.2 mile to Gibraltar Road, then proceed north of Gibraltar Road for a distance of 6.5 miles to East Camino Cielo Road (Forest Road 5N12) then east on East Camino Cielo Road for 12.1 miles to Juncal Campground, then proceed northwesterly on Forest Road 5N15 for 3.1 miles to Pendola Station. Lions: Travel 15 miles north along State Hwy 33 from the junction of State Hwy 150 at Ojai, CA, then continue approximately 5 miles east along Forest Road 7N03 to Lions Campground. Beaver: Travel 17.5 miles north along State Hwy 33 from the junction of State Hwy 150 at Ojai, CA to Beaver Campground on the east side of State Hwy 33. NAICS code 236210 Size Standard: $28.5 million. Recommended contract time is 120 calendar days. Estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. Offer due by noon June 14, 2004. Contracting Officer may schedule a Pre-bid Tour. It will be announced in an amendment.
