Description

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT, Renovation of the Chancery and Annex building, U. S. Embassy Complex, Rome, Italy....... SALMEC-04-R0039....... THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE (DOS), Office of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) is seeking qualified Construction firms for renovation to the chancery and a newly acquired annex building in Rome, Italy. The project includes renovation of a limited number of offices in the chancery, to include conversion from unclassified function to classified operations. The renovation to the new 20530 sq. meter annex includes but not limited to providing physical and technical security protection; life safety upgrades i.e. automatic sprinkler system, fire alarm; upgrade of building code deficiencies i.e. stairs and elevators; functional upgrades to the mechanical and electrical systems. Both buildings are historic structures and dating form the mid 1800's for the chancery and 1920's for the annex building, preservation of the historic fabric will be a major part of this project.
