Request for Information ? Small, light-weight, low power RF receiver - DUE: 18 May 2004. POC Contact: Tom Kirkpatrick, phone: 843-218-4840, e-mail: thomas.kirkpatrick@navy.mil. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center - Charleston (SSC-CH) is seeking information on all available commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) RF Receivers. This announcement is for information gathering purposes only. These receivers must be light weight, low power and small size. These receivers must also be relatively low cost. SSC-CH is only interested receivers that meet the below stated requirements and that are currently available as COTS, or that can be easily adapted to meet the requirements in a reasonable amount of time. Determination as to its suitability will be made by SSC-CH based on the objectives of this request. SPAWAR Systems Center Charleston is conducting a market survey for small, light weight, low power and low cost RF receivers. The following salient characteristics apply: frequency range: 2 MHZ - >2 GHz; AM, FM, CW LSB and USB demodulators; BFO + 2 KHz; multiple IF bandwidths; manual and automatic gain control; remote controllable via either USB or RS-232; size < 4" x 6" x 1.25"; software settable squelch; >100 memory channels; high-speed channel scanning capability; high-speed sweep capability; signal strength available via software calibrated in dBm; internally generated spurs < -100dBm; 3rd order intercept > -5 dBm; sensitivity < -115dBm @ 10dB SINAD 12 KHz bandwidth FM; AFC; desired temperature range of -20 degrees C to +50 degrees C; no external controls required as all communications will be via serial port; semi rugged design that can be repackaged without too much difficulty; < 4 watts power; analog audio output or digital audio via USB (desired); RF re-radiation < -100dBm; image rejection 90 dB; item must be available in reasonable quantities in under 6 months.Submittals: Respondents are welcome to provide information in the form of product brochures, press releases, technical specification sheets, independent assessment results, reprints of trade journal articles, etc, although electronic media are preferred (CD, diskette, or internet link).
