Description
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) anticipates the award of a contract for two years to achieve two major program goals. First, the program will increase the use of and access to quality child health and reproductive health and services, as well as infectious disease prevention and treatment, and improve the health of women and children. The program will build the capacity of NGOs working in Haiti to provide quality health services through the application of best practices and lessons learned during past project implementation. The program will support decentralization of public sector services and management, as well as public-private partnership for improved services. The second major element of the contract will contribute directly to the President?s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Goal set in Haiti to provide treatment to 25,000 people, prevent 125,000 new HIV infections and to provide care and support services to 125,000 people with a particular focus on orphans and vulnerable children by 2008. The HIV response in Haiti will focus on comprehensive programs for prevention, care and treatment, building on the substantial network of NGOs and community-based organizations, as well as existing clinic-based care and treatment programs in the country. The contractor shall be required to work in close collaboration with all U.S. Government partners in achieving these goals. All activities proposed shall also have to directly contribute to PEPFAR goals. Please note that this RFP is for services in Haiti and not the Dominican Republic. Our office is the Regional Contracting Office for USAID/Haiti. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541611. The solicitation will be posted on the FEDBIZOPPS web page (i.e., www.fedbizopps.gov) not less than fifteen (15) days after this notice is issued.
