Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a sole source contract with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), 2101 Constitution Avenue, Washington, D.C. under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(5) - Authorized or required by statute. In accordance with 15 U.S.C. 278, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, in conjunction with the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council, shall conduct a technical assessment of NIST measurement and standards laboratories. The purpose of this assessment will be to identify technical merit of NIST Laboratory programs in the areas of worldwide state-of-the-art, relevance to current and future technical needs, and effectiveness in dissemination. The period of performance for this requirement is from award of the contract through one year thereafter, with one 1-year option periods. The Government anticipates the award of a cost reimbursement type contract. The proposed requirement is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation package is not available. See NOTES 22 and 26.***
