Description

COMBINED SYNOPSIS The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source purchase order firm-fixed price type to Laboratories At Bonfils 717 Yosemite Street Denver, CO 80230; for an on-going quality control study on Genetic testing of Thai baseline CONRAD specimen. CDC need to use the same source as previous samples in order to maintain an essential capability for developmental work calling for the practical application of investigative findings and theories of a scientific nature. Although there is some information available with respect to HLA antigens and infectious diseases, the association of the vast majority of the various HLA alleles with susceptibility to and progression of infectious diseases remains unclear. Since there are over 2000 different HLA types and the technology is so labor intensive, it is more cost effective to have the HLA genotyping effort outsourced. Lab at Bonfils is the only known source for HLA typing for both moderate and high resolution that performs the vast majority of HLA typing for bone marrow transplantation (which requires moderate resolution) and is the only group that can provide DNA sequencing for the high resolution typing for CDC.
