- Description
- This project will consist of grading, drainage, and hot asphalt concrete pavement resurfacing on 18.930 kilometers of roadway for ND PRA THRO 11(4), South Loop Road, in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Billings County, State of North Dakota. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Principal work items include: lump sum contractor testing; 10,000 m3 watering for dust control; removal of structures and obstructions; 5,400 m3 roadway excavation; 630 m3 placed riprap (various class); 350 m3 gabions, galvanized or aluminized coated; 127,000 m2 road reconditioning; 2,800 metric tons cement; 1,500 metric tons asphalt cement grade PG58-40; 23,500 metric tons Superpave asphalt concrete pavement; 420 m pipe culvert (various size and material); 660 m pipe culvert liner (various size); 300 m underdrain system; 680 m Portland cement concrete curb and gutter; 9,700 m asphalt concrete curb (various); 2,400 m guardrail system G4 (wood-weathered steel); 56 each terminal section type tangent; heavy equipment operators (various); 7,000 m2 placing conserved topsoil; seeding and mulching (hydraulic method); 3,200 L pavement markings type B; along with associated surveying, staking, and traffic control. The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000 with interest at prime rate, as published daily in the Wall Street Journal, plus 1.75 percent.
