- Description
- The purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the Air Force?s intent to award a sole source contract to Lockheed Martin Space System Company (LMSSC) ? Valley Forge, PA for the production of Support Equipment to support the Safety Enhanced Reentry System (SERV) Program in providing the capability to deploy the Mk21 Reentry Vehicle (RV) into the Minuteman III (MMIII) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). Statutory authority is 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 ?Only one responsible source.? It is considered that only LMSSC has the requisite skills, equipment, capabilities, system expertise, and resources to accomplish the required production of this equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The Air Force will not pay for either the effort or the associated costs to respond, or for any information provided. Acquisition Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from the contractor during proposal development.
