Description

Operational Contracting, US Air Force Academy intends to award a sole source purchase order utilizing simplified acquisition procedures to JEOL USA Inc for maintenance and service for the JEM-2000FX, Scanning Electron Microscope. This will require a minimum of twice a year preventative maintenance to include work on the scanning defractor, scanning device, free lens control, hollow core illumination, micro micro diffraction, water chiller, common spec holder and side entry goniometer. If repair is needed on any or all of the above mentioned items they will be performed to include replacement parts for no additional charge. The allowable exceptions to this would be: filaments, movable and fixed apertures, scintillatiors, x-ray crystals, fluorescent screens, xenon counters, detectors, lead glass, proportional counter windows, cameral film boxes, burnt CRTs wehnelt assemblies, comsumables, specimen exchange tools, specimen holders. This service is being acquired for the USAF Academy Department of Biology. Supplies and/or services are available from only one responsible source. No other type of supply or service will satisfy agency requirements. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to meet this requirement. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. If no response is received by May 7, 12:00PM Noon, MDT, to the effect that comparable supplies and/or services are available that would be more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these supplies and or services though a sole source procurement with JEOL USA Inc a sole source award will be made.
