- Description
- The US Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command in Warren, MI is conducting a market investigation for technical information from foreign vendors on a Enhanced Bridge Site Mobility System (EBSMS) for potential use by Army Multi-Role Bridging Compan ies. The EBSMS will provide future expeditionary forces a wet gap bridge and ferrying capability contained in a single unit. The EBSMS will combine seven separate functional systems into single unit, reducing the engineering bridging footprint and logist ics burden. The EBSMS improves expeditionary forces?????? mobility and capability while reducing the engineer??????s Multi-Role Bridging Company??????s (MRBC) battlefield footprint from seven systems to one. Current MRBC wet gap and ferrying requirements call for over 254 pieces of equipment to construct wet gap bridges. EBSMS now combines seven separate systems into a single modular unit that is multi-functional. EBSMS will enable MRBC??????s expeditionary units to construct a 100 meter bridge in less than 50% of the time, with 65% of the manpower. The Logistics tail for the wet gap bridging and rafting will provide the biggest reduction in life cycle costs due to the reduced number of systems. The Army is interested in only those systems that are in p roduction and in use by other nation??????s armed forces. The Army would like to run limited testing to determine the suitability of existing systems to meet our needs. This market survey is for informational purposes only and is not a presolicitation notice. A presolicitation notice will be published if a formal solicitation is generated.
