Description
Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) ? Orlando, TSD intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) commercial contract to Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) on a sole source basis. The Surface Warfare Officer School (SWOS) has directed NAVAIR Orlando to incorporate additional capability into the Surface Warfare Officer School ? Ship Handling Trainer (SWOS-SHT) suite currently being utilized at SWOS in Newport, RI. Specifically, Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC) will be tasked to develop a Full Mission Bridge Trainer module and to integrate this module with the twelve existing desktop systems to create an interactive, total team training environment for ship bridge crews. This tasking will also include the option to purchase twelve additional desktop systems and a scenario replay lab for future integration into the SWOS-SHT suite. Additionally, this tasking requires extensive software modifications to incorporate the Anti-terrorism Force Protection (ATFP) functionality required by SWOS. These modifications will provide the SWOS-SHT suite with additional scenarios and capabilities to train the ship bridge crews on how to recognize and defend against terrorist threats. This total effort will require software modifications and additional hardware. The existing baseline software is a proprietary product and is considered to be a commercial off the shelf (COTS) product sold under the V-Ship product line. Incorporation of the ATFP functionality requires extensive modification of this proprietary baseline. Additional spares will be required. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. For questions or comments regarding this notice, please contact the referenced specialists.
