Description

?This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command.? The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Purchase Order on a Sole-Source basis to Thordon Bearing, Inc., 3225 Mainway Drive, Burlington, Ontario, Canada L7M IA6 for the manufacture, application, and inspection of nonmetallic coating to QTY 14 Government provided Bearing Rings P/N6661074. The Government plans to issue a request for written quote to Thordon Bearing, Inc., using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13 under the authority of USC 2304 (c)(1). The anticipated award date is 28 May 04. This action is being processed on a Sole Source basis due to the fact that the THORDON nonmetallic coating is proprietary to Thordon Bearing, Inc.. A Statement of Work, Contract Data Requirements Listing and list of Government Property Made Available will be provided with the RFQ. There are no substitutes available for these services. No other vendors are approved to offer the services required. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be accessed at our web site http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room.
