- Description
- NASA/GRC has a requirement for the purchase of Upgraded Version of NX-Nastran Software, annual maintenance and technical support for the License. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from UGS PLM SOLUTIONS. This software is proprietary in nature and unique to this company and must be compatible to the GRC existing NX-Nastran Software currently running. The Sole Source is under the Authority of FAR reference 13.106-1(b)1. The procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) in FAR Part 13. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Organizations that believe they are capable of performing the described work may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 05/14/04. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. THIS IS NOT A COMPETITIVE ANNOUNCEMENT - IT IS A SOLE SOURCE ANNOUNCEMENT. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
