Description
This solicitation will be available at http:/ideasec.nbc.gov on or about May 21, 2004 with a bid opening date of approximately 30 days following issuance. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND TELEPHONE REQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICATATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Description: CONSTRUCT WATER LINE FOR FIRE HYDRANT AND INSTALL ELECTRICAL SERVICE AT DERBY STREET WHARF, Salem Maritime National Historic Site, Derby Street, Salem Massachusetts. Solicitation Number Q1900-04-0005. Provide all labor, equipment, materials and incidentals necessary to construct a water line, install fire hydrant and provide 100 Amp electrical service from Derby Street approximately 400 linear feet down Derby Wharf, in accordance with the contract documents. The water section consists of furnishing and installing a 6 inch diameter D.I. pipe with fittings, gate valves and valve boxes from existing town water main to a fire hydrant. The electrical section consist of 100 amp, three phase, service, furnished and installed underground from the city's light pole to a contractor erected and furnished junction box with associated marine terminations. Mass. electric will provide the electric meter. Digging, trenching, underground piping and all activities required to complete the service from street to pier terminations and restore the pavement and landscape to original are also required under this contract. The National Park Service anticipates entering into a firm fixed-price construction contract as a result of this solicitation. This acquisition is subject to P.L.100-656, Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program, and as such is open to all concerns regardless of size. The NAICS code for this project is 237110 with a small business size standard of $28.5 million. The contract performance period is 45 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. In accordance with FAR Section 36.204, the estimated range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Contractors are urged to make a site visit to ascertain existing work conditions.
