Description

The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) to award a firm-fixed-price contract for the Green Brook Flood Control Project-Ringwall Around Apartment Complex, located at 500 Union Avenue, Bound Br ook, New Jersey. This acquisition shall be UNRESTRICTED. The estimated construction value of this project is between $200,000.00 and $900,000.00. The completion period is approximately 210 calendar days after the chosen contractor receives the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 with a size standard of $28,500,000.00. Plans and specifications will be made available on or about 14 May 2004. The work will consist of construction of a Ringwa ll around the apartment complex, including pump station, interior drainage facilities, and appurtenances including drainage structures and curbs. Failure to complete the work within the 210 days from NTP, will subject the contractor to liquidated damages in the amount of $900.00 for each day of delay. Bidder will be responsible for self-site investigation, after receiving owner permission. Bidder will be responsible for determining the location of all utilities, structures, and so forth, as well as all d istances to boundaries. Bid opening date is tentatively scheduled for 15 June 2004 at 1:30 PM. Bid opening will be held in Room 1841 of 26 Federal Plaza, New York NY 10278-0090. The media selected for the issuance of the solicitation and amendments shal l solely be at the discretion of the Government. Accordingly, the media utilized for this project shall be the Internet and CD-ROM. Paper copies of this solicitation and amendments, if any, will not be available or issued. Interested parties may downloa d or print the solicitation at no charge at http://www.nan.usace.army.mil (Contracting Opportunities). Project specification files and drawings are Portable Document Files (.pdf) and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Minimu m system requirements are Pentium II personal computer, Microsoft Windows 95 or greater, 128MB application RAM. A registration page is attached to the website and prospective bidders are required to register to receive notice of any amendments and/or adde nda that may be issued to this solicitation. Utilization of the Internet is the preferred method, however, CD??????s will be available upon written request, stating the Solicitation Number, or Project Name, complete company name and street address (we wil l not deliver to P. O. boxes), telephone and facsimile numbers (including area codes). Make check or money order payable in the amount of $10.00 to FAO, USAED, NY. DFARS 252.204-7004 Required Central Contractor Registration (CCR) applies to this procurem ent. Prospective contractors must be registered in the Department of Defense CCR database prior to award. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
