- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Washington, D.C., pursuant to 41-U.S.C. 253(c)(1)-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is a commercial item procurement for meeting space, meeting breaks, and audiovisual equipment and technician for the Obesity and Built Environment meeting on May 24-26, 2004. Breaks will consist of the following: mid-afternoon break on May 24th (coffee, decaf, assorted teas, bottled water, brownies); mid-morning break on May 25th (coffee, decaf, assorted teas, bottled water and muffins); mid-afternoon break on May 25th (coffee, decaf,, assorted teas, bottled water and cookies); mid-morning break on May 26th (coffee, decaf, assorted teas, bottled water and breakfast breads) for 575 people. Breakout rooms will accommodate the following: 90, 30, 40, 40, 75, 150, 90, and 60. AV will consist of the following for each of the breakout rooms: 2 wireless microphones (one for facilitator and one for the attendees to pass around), overhead, screen, recorder, flipchart with paper and markers, transparencies, cart for the overhead projector, and a floating technician for each day of the breakouts. AV will consist of the following for the general session: podium, table with 3 wired microphones for the panel, 2 large screens, riser, laser pointer, LCD projector package, 2 standing microphones in the isles, camera and audio patch, recorder, tapes, audio mixer, wireless lavelier, audio technician for general sessions only, lap top computer, riser for press and camera crew and in-house patch system to the audio from the general session. Other rooms needed besides the general session room and breakouts will be a Press room (with fax machine and telephone for several press handling this meeting) and an office for the staff (with a copier and telephone). This is to be issued under FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 15 days of date of notice to Elaine Shoaf at the above address, fax 919 541-5117 or e-mail shoaf1@niehs.nih.gov for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. The NAICS Code/Size is 721110/$5.0M. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
