This is a Market Survey to locate additional sources for a component (Antenna, AS-2108A) of the Low Frequency Automatic Direction Finder, AN/ARN-89B, consisting of: AS-2108A Antenna, P/N SM- D-730981. A current producer of this item is: VALCOM Limited (of Guelph, Ontario, Canada). Data: Category: LF/MF Antenna; Photo: AS-2108A/ARN-89B Height: I in (2.54 cm) (repeated below); Frequency range: 100 KHz to 3.0 MHz-for antennas; Features: Two (2) bi-directional antennas; High gain pre-amplifier for each channel; Sealed for environmental protection. Description: This antenna consists of two f errite rod, bi-directional antennas mounted at right angels to each other, as well as high gain pre-amplifier for each channel. All components are potted within a metal and fibreglass shell, and sealed to provide environmental protection. NOTE: Form, Fit, and Function for the AS-2108A/ARN-89B. Suppliers capable of furnishing these units must so indicate, by writing to Commander, USACECOM, ATTN: AMSEL-LC-CCS-A-AN, Building 1200E, Ft. Monmouth, NJ 07703-5043. The response must include documentation such as test results, a copy of purchase order(s), (if the supplier was a vendor to the listed source or a statement from listed source demonstrating that the supplier can, in fact, supply the Army with a unit that will be physically and functionally interchangeable with the unit from the previous supplier. Any successful supplier may be required to warrant that the item supplied will satisfactorily perform when used for the purpose intended by the Army.
