Description
The Office of Inspector General (OIG) intends to enter into a sole source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures with Judith Light, CMC (Certified Management Consultant), FIMC (Fellow - Institute of Management Consultants), 2453 Paseo Road Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Services shall include conducting a three-day class entitled The Whole Leader ? Leading with Emotional Intelligence. The objective of the class is to help Expert and Senior auditors improve their ability to lead by providing a combination of classroom training, self awareness assessment and a twelve week coaching process that meets weekly (via telephone conference calls with team) to discuss progress during the week. The three-day class will include up to 16 individuals from the US DOL, OIG, Office of Audit. Class work will include lectures and practical exercises demonstrating the techniques of identifying and using emotional intelligence in our team building and interactions with staff. Class work will prepare the individual with the tools they use in practical applications in the work place. These techniques will increase the individual?s ability to identify their emotions and the emotions of others in order to be even more effective in managing themselves and their relations with colleagues and with people in other organizations. The techniques learned during this three-day class will help the individual by: Recognizing and developing leadership potential in each individual; Sharpening the self-awareness of one?s emotions and how it influences decisions in the workplace and the effect on others; Understanding of how motivators are used to make better decisions; Understanding of how emotions can be hijacked ? what triggers it and how to manage it; Understanding of the value and practice of relationship management in the workplace; Learning techniques to manage your emotions and the emotions of others in the workplace; Interested persons may identify their capability to respond to the requirement no later than 2:00pm EST on May 25, 2004 via email to cwells@oig.dol.gov or fax to Cheryl Wells at (202) 693-5121. Award is anticipated on or after May 26, 2004. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however all responses received before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. Information received will also be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
