- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation, New Melones intends to solicit for quotations for lowering of a concrete weir. The solicitation should be issued on May 27, 2004. Solicitation 04SQ243021 will be posted at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. existing concrete weir needs to be lowered 6.98 to 6.64 inches to obtain a finished invert at elevation 1430.00 with a continual width of 10 feet. The proposal must include a brief description of the process to be used to lower the weir, construction schedule, and lump sum cost to provide the following tasks: 1) Verify existing weir elevations and conditions. Contractor shall use survey bench marks located on the attached drawing. 2) Provide a detailed plan as to how the proposer will lower the weir with a continual invert elevation of 1430.00 and width of 10 feet. As a minimum, this plan must include details on protection of the HDPE liner during construction and cleanup, saw cutting , size of rebar, splicing rebar to the existing concrete, method for placing concrete, concrete depth, concrete mix, rebar location and cleanup. This plan must be submitted three weeks before construction for review by the Government. The Government will review and respond to the submittal within 8 working days after receipt. Construction cannot occur until the plan is approved. 3) Lower the weir in accordance to the approved plan. 4) Provide as-built drawing of the lowered weir including verification of elevations. 5) Lump sum cost to include site visit, mobilization, construction, demobilization, clean up, and all parts, equipment, labor and materials necessary to perform all work. All excess material must be removed and disposed of by the contractor. Precautions should be made not to damage the HDPE liner. If the liner is cut during lowering of the weir, the contractor will be required to have it repaired by a certified HDPE liner installer at no cost to the Government. The finished weir throat will be reinforced concrete constructed to industry standards and be warranted against cracking for a minimum of 5 years. The magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The anticipated award date is June 3, 2004. Award will be based on the technical propsal and best value to the Government.
