Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY TO PRE-QUALIFY VENDORS. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THIS IS NOT A FORMAL REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. SCOPE: The United States Senate Office of the Sergeant at Arms requires technical services and support to modernize the audio system in the Chamber of the United States Senate. The United States Senate Chamber Audio Upgrade Project (Upgrade Project) will include: 1) an upgrade from an existing ten year-old audio system to a system based upon current technologies and 2) the preparation of system components for relocation to the Senate Recording Studio?s future Capitol Visitor Center facility. The Senate?s goal is to retain the basic concept and functionality of the existing system while moving to more modern equipment and operating system. The successful vendor shall provide all labor, design, tools, equipment, material, testing, training, documentation and any other items and services necessary for the Upgrade Project. The Upgrade Project must be complete by end of August 2005. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: The vendor must have: 1) a minimum of five years experience designing, installing, programming, and testing large sound systems utilizing the Peavey Media Matrix audio systems; 2) a minimum of five years experience writing custom software (source code level) for applications working with the Peavey Media Matrix audio system; 3) a minimum of five years experience designing and building custom hardware, and writing custom software (source code level) for custom hardware/software applications that process audio and provide operational control with the Peavey Media Matrix audio systems; 4) a minimum of two years experience installing, programming, and testing CobraNet audio systems used with the Peavey Media Matrix audio system; 5) a minimum of five years experience in audio consulting on large audio systems with the ability to apply acoustical expertise to requirements one, two, three, and four; and 6) experience working with sensitive historic architecture with the focus on the unique aspects of installing a state of the-art audio system in an existing building. The SAA invites all qualified sources to respond to this sources sought announcement. Responses are due to the POC no later than May 26, 2003 12:00 Noon EDT and shall be submitted electronically via e-mail to acquisitions@saa.senate.gov. The subject line of the email message should be ?2004-S-054 ?Upgrade Project?. Responses must contain: 1) General Information about your firm * Company Name: * Address: * Point of Contact Telephone Number E-mail address * DUNS Number * Tax ID Number; 2) Discussion of your firm?s experience and ability to perform the tasks and meet all mandatory requirements; and 3) Past experience identified by a listing of all related contracts and subcontracts, along with a brief description of your company?s performance under these contracts and subcontracts. Provide the Contracting Officer?s name and telephone number in order for the SAA to validate your statements. The SAA reserves the right to request supplemental information in order to clarify your company?s experience, capabilities, and qualifications. Access to information in any files attached to the response is the responsibility of the submitting party. The SAA is not responsible for any failure to access information. The information supplied in response to this source sought notice will be used to pre-qualify Vendors that will be invited to submit proposals. Only pre-qualified vendors will be permitted to submit proposals. Vendors responding to this sources sought notice and deemed qualified by the SAA will be placed on a solicitation mailing list. If suitable responses are received from qualified sources, the SAA may release a solicitation in June 2004. Telephone or e-mail requests for additional information will not be honored. The Senate or the SAA will not be responsible for any costs for the preparation of responses to this announcement. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.
