- Description
- This is a Sources Sought Synopsis. This synopsis neither constitutes a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. This synopsis should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This Sources Sought Synopsis is in support of a market survey being conducted by the Department of Commerce/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Marine and Aviation Operations for a standard competition of the Electronics Technician (ET) Services of the Marine Operations Centers (MOC). The competition will include services that are currently performed by Government personnel at sea aboard NOAA vessels and in various NMAO Marine Operations Center locations including, but not limited to, Norfolk, VA; Seattle, WA; Honolulu, HI; Pascagoula, MS; and Woods Hole, MA. Services being competed include preventive and corrective maintenance and installations on all the various types of electronic equipment and systems used on NOAA Hydrographic and Fisheries survey and Oceanographic research ships. Typical functions to be performed include assessing maintenance requirements and determining resources required to repair and/or install equipment; preparing service reports and installation plans; repairing equipment using schematics, vendor documents and test equipment; and verifying repair or performing acceptance tests of returned/repaired equipment; configuring, operating and administering the NOAA Scientific Computer System (SCS) and email servers. The systems include, but are not limited to: navigation systems, acoustic systems, communications systems, oceanographic/atmospheric instruments, personal computers, network servers and local area network components. A draft performance work statement was released on FedBizOps March 3, 2004 and is provided under reference number DG1330-04-RP-0001. The Government requests interested offerors submit electronically to eed.a76@noaa.gov of their capability response no later than close of business, on May 27, 2004. Any information submitted by respondents to this Sources Sought Synopsis is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted by respondents to this synopsis. Qualified companies, who provide responses to this Sources Sought, will be notified once the Solicitation is released. Please direct any questions on this announcement to Mr. Joel L. Perlroth via e-mail eed.a76@noaa.gov.
