Description
THE PURPOSE OF THIS MODIFICATION IS TO EXTEND THE RESPONSE DATE TO JUNE 15, 2004. United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Mid West Area has a project entitled G-Barn Repair and K3 & K4 Feed Pad. The project is located at USDA, ARS, MWA, US Dairy Forage Research Center, Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. The Contractor shall provide labor and materials for renovation of an feed bunk area, with an option, and the renovation of an existing heifer barn. The renovation of the feed bunk area includes, but is not limited to furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work to perform and complete the work which includes removing the existing feed bunk and replacing with a poured concrete feed bunk and push wall with open feeding. Option 1 includes self locking headgates. The renovation of the existing heifer barn includes removal of the existing concrete feed alley, replacing the existing concrete feed alley with a new concrete feed alley of a different cross section, opening up the sidewalls, removing the existing sidewall box vents and replacing with an upper and lower sidewall curtain, relocating an existing entry, addition of heated waterers, relocation of the existing waterers, expansion of an existing alley scraper system, and addition of new freestalls and new interior fencing and gating. The period of performance is 90 days. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. Bonding will be required. Estimated price range is: Between $100,000 and $250,000. This acquisition will be procured as a full and open competition under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The NAICS code is 236220 and the annual size standard is 28.5 million. This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB). All responsible and qualified sources may submit a bid that will be considered by the agency. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and information provided in the solicitation package. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. The anticipated IFB solicitation package will be available on or about May 7, 2004.
