- Description
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service Central Region (NWS) operates the NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) network to provide continuous transmission of recorded weather and appropriate all-hazards warning information to the public. Sites are located throughout the States of Nebraska, Minnesota, North Dakota, Kentucky, Colorado and Wisconsin. The NWR system consists of an audio control console, a transmitter system and a communication link, and emergency power generator system. The equipment is located on towers and at towers sites throughout the state. The towers are owned by the State or a media broadcasting system within the state. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. In order to be considered, firms must furnish detailed information concerning their capability to provide the service; specifity the site of interest; provide certification that they are authorized by the tower owners to service the equipment; and references (point of contact, phone number, description of work, dollar value) from contracts for previous work performed.
