Description

Restore an existing trail used by hikers/equestrians. Work also includes the construction of three locations and several grade adjustments. Restoration (reconstruction) work includes reconstructing the trailbed, removing slough and berms, outsloping entire trailbed, reshaping and refinishing backslopes, removing protruding rocks and roots, filling ruts and troughs, acquisition, hauling placing and compacting of fill material, construction of rock waterbars, drain dips, barrier logs and other structures, cutting back logs, stumps and encroaching brush, reconstructing switchbacks and refinishing the entire trail tread surface. Construction (relocations) consists of clearing, grubbing, construction of a new trailbed, construction of switchbacks. Work also includes several adjustments in trail grade on the existing trail. Blasting will be necessary. Trail will remain open during restoration. A high standard of workmanship is required as is adherence to project specifications. Estimated price range: Between $25,000 and $100,000. A request for written quotations will be issued. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered. The solicitation will be posted to the FEDBIZOPPS website and will provide all necessary information for quoters to prepare and submit a quote. Anticipated award date is 30 June 2004, or earlier. Desired date for starting work is July 15, 2004. Construction is to be completed no later than 30 October 2005.
