Description: The U.S Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the construction of a reinforced concrete water control structure located at Bald Knob National Wildlife Refuge, White County, Arkansas. The water control structure consist of a reinforced concrete structure with a steel pile cutoff wall fitted with two(2) 84" square canal gates with appropriate stem, gate operator, yoke and frame as well as a stop log channel guide and fabrication of 39 aluminum stop logs. The work consist of dewatering the site, placement of the sheet pile cutoff wall, construction of the reinforced concrete structure, placement of the hardware structures on the concrete headwall, placement of fill and rip rap around the structures, installation of electrical components and access road surfacing. Work includes, but is not limited to, supplying all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the installation of the water control structure and appurtenances. This is not a small business set-aside in accordance with the latest quarterly adjustment under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The NAICS code is 237990. The size standard is $28.5 million. The estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The tentative IFB issue date is on or about 6/04/04, with a 30 day closing. A firm-fixed price contract will be issued with a start date on or about 08/01/04 with a performance period of 100 days from the start date. The anticipated award date is 07/21/04. The IFB documents will be available electronically on the Federal Business Opportunities Web Site at HTTP://FEDBIZOPPS.GOV under IFB number 401814B005. Paper copies WILL NOT be available.
