Description
Solicitation will be available at http://ideas.nbc.gov on June 1, 2004. Paper copies will not be issued and telephone or fax requests for this solicitation will not be accepted. Description: Full and open competition. Project title: Purchase ten (10) Heating Furnaces, Lassen Volcanic National Park, 38050 Hwy 36 East, Mineral CA 96063. 1) Contractor will remove old furnaces from the park and dispose of properly. 2) All furnaces to be converted to propane. 3) Any down flow furnaces installed on combustible floor must have combustible floor base installed. 4) Recommendation of furnaces to be installed: Amstrong or equivalent. Up flow furnaces GID93AU or equivalent. Down flow furnaces GID93AC or equivalent. Above furnaces are to be rated 93% efficient or equivalent. 5) Installation of the furnaces and all electrical wiring must conform to the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association, the National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1/ NFPA No. 54 and the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA No. 70. 6) The furnace designs must be certified by CSA international in compliance with the latest edition of American National Standard Z21.47/CSA Standard 2.3 for Gas-Fired Furnaces for operation with propane. 7) The furnaces must be installed so that electrical components are protected from moisture and water. Units must be level for propane condensation drainage. 8) All units must be suitable for closet or utility room installation. 9) The furnace units must be installed so that all servicing and cleaning can be performed from the front. 10) PVC pipe joints are to be sealed gas tight with the appropriate cement. In areas where vent and air intake pipes are exposed to abnormal stress or are subject to damage, scheduled 80 PVC pipe will be used. 11) Contractor is responsible for installing proper sized filters after installation of the new furnaces before operating. 12) The furnaces must be grounded and wired in accordance with the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA No. 70 in the U.S. 13) All new furnaces will be 120-volt electrical wiring. 14) All new furnaces must rate within +/- 2% of the appliance rating input. 15) All new furnaces to be installed are above 5000 ft. 16) Manifold pressure needs to be adjusted according to manufacture specifications. Solicitation Number Q8400040030. The National Park Service requires a firm, fixed price quote on the purchase of ten (10) free-standing propane furnaces. Please see attached for specific description of heating units. Cost to include all materials, freight, labor for installation, travel, per diem and proper disposal of old units. NAICS code for this project is 333415, Heating equipment, warm air (i.e., forced air), manufacturing. A site visit will be scheduled for all interested parties with the time and date to be announced in the solicitation, Section L, clause 52.237-01, Site Visit.
