Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Region-2 has a requirement for fuels management (fuels reduction) services to treat vegetation to reduce the risk of wildfires. The work is located at Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, in Burnet County near, Marble Falls, Texas. The work involves the removal of previously cut slash by loading and hauling off site or chipping of the previously cut slash and hauling of the chips off site. The work is located at various locations within the refuge. This solicitation is setaside for small business only. The NAICS for this requirement is (115310, EXCEPT Fuels Management Services) with a size standard of $15.0 million. This solicition is a commercial items performance based, best value. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available on or about June 4, 2004. The solicitation will be available via the electronic commerce website: http://ideasec.nbc.gov. If you register with this site, you can view posted solicitations and awards. All vendors with access to the Internet and an e-mail address can receive electronic notification of awards. Vendors can also be sent an email notification of any solicitations directed to them. Vendors should use their DUNS number in the DUNS field, and their Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) as the password with no dashes. Award will be made to the responsible, responsive offeror who submits the proposal that is the best value to the government in consideration of all the evaluation factors. It is anticipated that evaluation and award will be made by June 21, 2004. Requests for the solicitation are acceptable by fax at (505) 248-6791, by e-mail to joe_grainey@fws.gov, or by mail at the above address. Mailed requests must be addressed to the attention of Monica Huerta. Requests must reference solicitation number 201814R031. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted. Vendors are required to register at the Central Contractor Registrations System (CCR) at http://www.ccr.gov by 10/1/04 in order to do business with the Federal Government.
