- Work is located approximately 15 miles east of Meredith, Colorado in Eagle and Pitkin Counties. Principal features of the work include: Furnishing and installing approximately 1,640 cable hangars in South Fork Tunnel, approximately 2,865 cable hangars in Boustead Tunnel, and 10 cable hangars in Hunter Tunnel. Locating and marking buried water conveyances, 5KV power cable, and 25 to 150 pair control cables at various sites. Excavating, placing and compacting backfill for pullboxes and trenches for buried electrical conduit systems at various sites. Core drilling 4-inch holes in concrete in tunnel inlet and outlet structures for electrical conduit systems. Furnishing and installing 29 precast concrete pullboxes. Furnishing and installing 15,516 feet of electrical conduit. Furnishing and placing gravelfill for pullboxes and electrical conduit trenches. Removing designated segments of 25, 50, 75, 100 and 150 pair of existing control cable. Installing approximately 36 miles of Government furnished fiber optic cable in South Fork, Boustead, Chapman, Hunter, Carter, Mormon, Cunningham, and Nast tunnels and between tunnels in Contractor furnished and installed conduit systems and pullboxes. Tunnels, vaults, and pullboxes are considered to be confined spaces. Comply with applicable safety regulations for working in confined spaces. Removing 12 existing gate operators and associated power and control cable, and furnishing and installing 12 new gate operators and associated power and control cable. Removing existing distance relays and associated wiring for existing hardwired controls at 17 sites. Furnishing and installing a control and fiber optic communication system to provide voice and data communication between Northside sites and Mormon Operations Building, between Southside sites and Chapman Operations Building, and between Chapman Operations Building and Mormon Operations Building. The estimated price range of this project is $1,000,000-$5,000,000. SOLICITATION PACKAGES ARE ANTICIPATED TO BE ISSUED ON OR AROUND JUNE 21, 2004. SEALED BIDS ARE TENTATIVELY DUE ON OR AROUND JULY 22, 2004, AT THE BUREAU OF RECLAMATION, GREAT PLAINS REGION, 316 NORTH 26TH STREET, BILLINGS, MONTANA 59101. There is no charge for the first copy of the solicitation package; additional sets will be provided upon receipt of money order in the amount of $9.00/each. This is an Invitation For Bid (IFB). All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation. The North American Industry Classification System code (NAICS) is 238210.
