- This is a sources sought announcement only and is not an intent to procure. A solicitation is not available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. The Naval Air Systems Command, Weapons Division is conducting market research to determine hardware availability for use in outdoor field tests of a Distributed Sensor Fusion Network here forth referred to as DSFN at the China Lake outdoor test range. Key network parameters of interest are (1) Maximum Connectivity Range (5 ? 20km), (2) Data Latency (maximum 10ms delay for 1kbit packet between any of 16 nodes), (3) High Availability / High Quality of Service, (4) Very High Data Security, (5) High Mean-Time-Between-Failure (MTBF), (6) Graceful Failure Modes, (7) Rough Order of Magnitude cost/schedule. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS SOURCES SOUGHT OR TO OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED. Your response to this sources sought will be treated as information only. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or part, any contractor input resulting from this sources sought. This sources sought does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or the authority to enter into negotiations to award a contract. No funds have been authorized, appropriated, or received for this effort. The information provided may be used by the Navy in developing its acquisition strategy and in its Statement of Work/Statement of Objectives and Performance Specifications. The information resulting from this sources sought may be included in one or more RFPs, which will be released to industry.
