Description

This project includes but is not limited to the following work: The selected contractor shall renovate the Special Proceedings Judges Chambers, 1st Floor at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse, 231 West Lafayette Boulevard, Detroit, MI. It includes the demolition of interior non-load bearing partitions; existing toilet rooms, existing interior ceiling, wall and floor finishes; interior door & frames: HVAC ductwork, diffusers, and grilles; light fixtures & electrical devices. Demolition work shall comply with GSA Construction Waste Management requirements. New construction shall include floor finishes, new wall finishes including gypsum wall board, wood paneling, and thin coat plaster, suspended acoustical ceiling systems, built in millwork; doors, door frames, and door hardware. Mechanical system improvements shall include rework of existing supply and return air distribution systems including new grilles; diffusers, controls and new air handling unit with steel access platform. Rework the existing fire protection system. Electrical system improvements shall include rework of existing power distribution systems, new lighting systems and fire alarm system. This work will be performed a the Theodor Levin U.S. Courthouse, 231 West Lafayette Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48226. The contract completion time from Notice to Proceed is 210 calendar days. This is a negotiated firm fixed price acquisition. The estimated cost range for all work is between $800,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. The offeror will provide a price for the base and four option for the work to be accomplished under this acquisition. The base bid will be for interior building renovations and Option No. 1 will involve carpet floor finish with accent borders for Judges's Chambers Conference Room 13. In addition, this option includes perimeter wood wainscoting, wood fin tube enclosure, built-in wood book shelving, and plastic laminate work counter. Option No. 2 work will entail decorative plastic ceiling and dome including decorative chandelier light fixture for Entry Room 01. Also the option will include procelain tile floor finish and base with accent pattern. In addition, the option involves a walnut chair rail around the perimeter of Room 01. Option No. 3 will encompass installation of walnut wainscot, wall trim, and crown molding/light cove, door pediment and fluted trim including fabric wall covering. Installation of carpet accent in Corridor 05 and 21 and decorative ceiling border in Corrdiro 05 will also be included as part of Option No. 3. Option No. 4 - GSA will furnish and contractor shall install all decorative chandelier light fixtures located in Judges Chambers No. 04 which is included in the Base Bid and Entry No. 01 included in Option No. 2. This procurement is set aside for small business concerns only in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 and the size standard is $28.5 million. The solicitation will be issued on or about June 16, 2004. Once you have registered with Central Contractor Registration (CCR) you will be required to register with FedTeDS. No federal material can be downloaded until you have registered under both sites. You will then be required to access the vendor registration form by selecting the hyperlink entitled, Register with FedTeDS and then choosing the Vendor Registration Form hyperlink. At a minimum all vendors must supply the following information. Your Company's Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN) (You can get this from your Company's CCR point of contact) Your Company's DUNS Number or CAGE Code (Contact Dun & Bradstreet at 1-800-333-0505 if you do not have a D&B number), Your telephone number, Your Email address. The solicitation cited above can only be obtained by accessing a secure website known as the Federal Technical Data Solution (FedTeDS). FedTeDS is a secure website designed to safeguard sensitive but unclassified (SBU) acquisition information. It is fully integrated with other electronic government initiatives such as FedBizOpps and the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database, and is available for use by all Federal agencies. In order to obtain information from FedTeDS, you will first be required to register with CCR. The Central Contractor Registration database is a part of the Business Partner Network, an e-gov initiative, and will be used to validate vendor identity. Effective October 1, 2003, all government contractors must be registered in CCR prior to receiving an award. You may access CCR at the following URL www.bpn.gov.
