Description
The NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service, Milford Connecticut Laboratory has a requirement to provide and install new sump pumps and piping to redirect drainage from existing sinks. The scope of the work includes, but is not limited to: providing all labor, materials and equipment necessary for general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, necessary for the drain piping revisions per the plans and specifications to be provided as attachments to the solicitation. The work includes installing new sump pumps and piping; installing new curbs and furnishing new pipe stub-ups to isolate existing seawater floor drains; modifying existing underfloor drainage piping; plugging existing floor drains; and replacing existing sinks with new sinks. Construction work will require temporarily stopping the flow of seawater drainage and must be coordinated and scheduled with the fisheries laboratory staff at least 48 hours prior to the start of the work. The length of time that the seawater drainage flow is interrupted shall be minimized as much as possible. Due to critical scientific experiments that are currently underway, the flow of seawater drainage shall not be interrupted at all until after August 15, 2004. The performance period will be 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. The magnitude of this project is estimated to be between $100,000 and $250,000. Bid Bond, Insurance, Payment and Performance Bonds will be required. Copies of the solicitation will be uploaded to this site on or about June 14, 2004. Hard copies of the solicitation and a CD containing drawings and plans will only be provided in response to written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor. Telephone requests will not be honored. Inquiries and requests for hard copies of the solicitation may be faxed to (757) 441-3786. A pre-bid site visit is scheduled at 212 Rogers Avenue, Milford, CT on 6/24/04 at 10:00 a.m. Contractors are invited to register at this site as an "Interested Vendor" and must provide complete mailing address and point of contact information. The proposed contract award is 100% Small Business Set-Aside and is intended for award of a firm-fixed price contract using sealed bid procedures. To be eligible for award, bidders must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR): www.ccr.gov and obtain a DUNS number by calling 1-800-333-0505. All responsible sources may submit a bid (including your DUNS number and Tax ID) to be considered by the agency.
