Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a firm fixed price contract to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation for the Fiscal Year 2005 requirement for the BQM-74E Aerial Target System. Between 60 and 100 BQM-74E Targets and assoiciated Target Mission Equipment Installation Kits will be procured. The contract will also contain an option for Fiscal Year 2006 for between 60 and 100 BQM-74E Aerial targets and associated kits. Technical data, Engineering and Field Operations Suuport and spare and repair parts will also be a part of the proposed contract for each Fiscal Year. NAVAIR intends to negotiate the proposed contract with Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation, San Diego, CA. Northrop Grumman is the developer and only known producer of the BQM-74E Aerial Target. Only Northrop Grumman has the technical expertise, undertsanding of the BQM-74E system architecture, and access to proprietary data necessary to perform the required effort in the time frame required to meet fleet training and test and evaluation requirements and without substantial duplication of existing Government infrastructure.
