Description
The Virginia Contracting Activity, on behalf of the Defense Intelligence Agency/Missile and Space Intelligence Center (DIA/MSIC), Building 4545, Fowler Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898-5500 intends to enter into a contract with Auburn University. The contract is for expertise in the application of genetic algorithms in the analysis of foreign ballistic and air defense missiles, specifically upgrades to a subset of the existing Genetic Algorithm suite codes used for missile performance prediction. The upgrade will include a user-friendly graphical interface. The contractor shall: Identify an appropriate set of missile analysis codes that may be applied to the investigation of the performance of foreign missiles that are powered by solid rocket grains. The codes are to be assembled into a single set of performance prediction algorithms that are controlled by a genetic algorithm routine. Develop a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for the Genetic Algorithm suite of codes. The GUI shall serve as the data entry and execution points for the Genetic Algorithm code, and shall include choices for the analysis of various missile systems and default values that will be automatically set based upon previous analysis. The output shall be in graphic or tabular form. Demonstrate the utility of the final set of codes and GUI and instruct MSIC personnel in the proper use of the system. No solicitations shall be issued other than this notice. All offerors interested in submitting an offer must fax their proposals with details to MSIC, CPT Joseph M. Davis, FAX 256-313-7963 NLT 08 June 2004. Only FAXED proposals will be accepted. Direct all contractual questions to CPT Joseph M. Davis at 256-313-7610.
