- Description
- The Government intends to procure on a sole source basis from Mauser-Werke, Oberndorf, Germany, M268 Mod0, APFSDS-T 30mm x 173mm ammunition cartridges capable of being fired from the 30mm MK 44 Automatic Gun. The ammunition must meet all of the requirements listed in Product Specification 53711-WS33596, must be linked in 15 round belts using the 30MM BMII Mk15 Mod 0 Link, and must be packaged in accordance with Drawing 53711-7402323 and palletized in accordance with Drawing 53711-6214179. M592 ammunition cans and Mk3 pallets will be provided as GFM. The ammunition must meet safety requirements needed for U.S. Navy Weapon Systems Explosive Safety Review Board (WSESRB) certification. The ammunition will be required to meet standard U.S. Navy safety and performance cartridge characteristics (i.e. chamber pressure, primer sensitivity, action time, cartridge integrity, etc.). This contract action is for a basic quantity of 690/ea rounds (rds). In addition to the sole source basic quantity, an option of 600/ea rds will also be included in the solicitation. The option quantity will be a competed procurement and award will be based solely upon total contract cost of base plus option. The contract will also require data. The government will require delivery of the basic contract within 150 days of contract award. The option will require deliveries commencing 150 days after date of option exercise. Contract award is expected on a FOB Destination basis with delivery to Aberdeen Test Center, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland 21005. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency.
