Description
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is conducting an A-76 standard study competition of the National Hansen’s Disease Program (NHPD). HRSA intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) which will solicit proposals to provide required services for the NHDP in the form of clinical care, research and education related to the control and eventual eradication of Hansen’s disease (Leprosy) and its debilitating effects. There are more than 5,000 patients nationwide being followed by the program. Hansen’s disease is a chronic debilitating infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae (M. leprae). It primarily affects the peripheral nervous system and secondarily involves skin and other tissues. The period of performance for this requirement will be 5 years. The North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 623990 “Other Residential Care Facilities”. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Agency. The solicitation will be issued on or about June 18, 2003 with a closing date on or about August 2, 2004. This solicitation, RFP Number: 04-258-NHPD-003, (previously referred to as: Reference-Number-A-76-Study-01(04)D), will be available at www.fbo.gov under HHS, Health Resources and Services Administration, Posted Dates. It is the prospective offeror’s responsibility to download the solicitation. The contact person for this acquisition is: Frantz Y.
