Description
The Billings Area Indian Health Service (IHS) is requesting proposals for Nurse Anesthetist Services for the Crow Service Unit, PHS Indian Hospital, Crow Agency, Montana. Anticipated coverage is fulltime or 2,080 hours per year not to exceed 2,950 hours. This includes normal in-house work hours from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and 24-hour immediate callback availability. The call may include continuous coverage over several days or split into equal tours each month with the staff nurse anesthetist. The actual shifts will be established on a monthly basis. The Contractor must be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). The Contractor must be licensed and meet all credentialing requirements at the facility as outlined in the medical staff by-laws, rules and regulations, and according to the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO). The Indian Health Service reserves the right to award either a single contract or multiple contracts as a result of this solicitation. The contract shall be awarded pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 37.1, Personal Services Contract (Public Law 103-332, Department of the Interior and Related Agencies Appropriation Act, Title II, September 30, 1994, 108 Stat. 2530, as implemented by 25 U.S.C. 1638c), and FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. The Federal Tort Claims Act for medical related claims is extended to the contractor for services performed within the scope of the personal services contract. The Contractor shall be subject to a character investigation as required by Public Law 101-630, Indian Family Violence Prevention Act and Public Law 101-647, Crime Control Act. The contract will be awarded for a 12-month period with four 12-month options. Requests for the solicitation should be submitted by June 18, 2004. The tentative issue date of the solicitation is June 21, 2004, with a response date of July 21, 2004.
