Description
The U.S. Army ARDEC is seeking sources to provide a lightweight towed 105mm howitzer system in support of the Enhanced Forcible Entry Cannon (EFEC). The Army intends to conduct extensive evaluation of the item to determine the potential application to fulfill the EFEC. The weapon must meet, or require minimal modification to meet, the following requirements: complete system shall weight less than 4200 lbs with digital fire control; possess the capability of achieving a range of no less than 20 kilometers with a preformed fragmenting type round and a minimum firing rate of 8 rounds/minute. The system shall have digital interface capability for self-locating, aiming & pointing, and fire control communication; have direct fire and 6400 mil firing capability; and be capable of firing the full suite of current U.S. 105mm cannon ammunition. Please advise if your product is a commercially available item. Proprietary and/or classified information will be protected as denoted with submission. Interested firms should submit literature/brochures not exceeding twenty (20) pages describing their technical capabilities, item design details and operational characteristics, production capacity (monthly sustainable production rate, maximum production rate, timeframe for first and subsequent deliveries), location of manufacturing facilities and unit production costs. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. The Government implies no intention or opportunity to acquire funding to support current or future development efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey.
