- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) plans to issue a purchase order on a sole source basis to J.A. Woollam Co., Inc., Lincoln, NE under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The object of this requirement is for the repair of a J.A. Woollam Co., Inc Vacuum Ultra-Violet Variable Angel Spectroscopic Ellpsometer (VUV-VASE), Model Number: VU-302, S/N 0201145. Repair consists of the replacement function of the main operation unit of an existing instrumentation system. J.A. Woolman Co., Inc. is the only source for this repair as they are the manufacturers of the ellpsometer and they hold the proprietary rights to the instrument. Period of performance is mid-August, 2004. The work will be performed at NIST, Gaithersburg, MD. The anticipated award date of this order is on or about ten (10) days from the date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested persons may identify their intent and capability to respond to this requirement no later than the response date above. A determination by the Government not to complete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. For information, call the POC identified below.
