- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a Small Business set aside for a firm-fixed price supply requirement (with incidental services). Furnish all necessary management, labor, supervision, equipment, transportation, and any other incidental services to perform work in accordance with Scope of Work entitled Shelving and Fencing with Installation for Storage Area, Building T-223, Fort Shaft er, Hawaii dated May 27, 2004. 1. SCOPE: Furnish and install pre-fabricated metal shelving for storage, chain link fencing partitions, exterior doors, and associated incidentals in accordance with the following minimum requirements and the attached plan. T he project site is Bldg 223, Fort Shafter, Hawaii. . REQUIREMENTS. a. Shelving: Long span metal shelving, boltless construction with adjustable shelving on 1???? inch centers. Steel construction with factory finished corrosion-resistant coating. Upright po sts shall be minimum 1-1/2 inch x 1-1/2 inch x 14 gauge. Shelf support beam shall be fabricated steel to support the required load. Shelf decking shall be heavy gauge wire grating or expanded metal. No sway cross-braces. Nominal 24 inch wide x 48 inch long x 7 feet high, with 4 shelves and 3 openings. 1000 lbs minimum capacity per shelf. Quantity = 5. Nominal 24 inch wide x 72inch long x 7 feet high, with 4 shelves and 3 openings. 600 lbs minimum capacity per shelf. Quantity = 38. Typical shelving unit. b. Pallet rack: Furnish and install factory finished or galvanized steel pallet racks. Nominal 36 feet long. Beams either roll formed or tubular steel, with beam-upright connector brackets, nominal 96 inch long, minimum 4,000lb capacity per beam. Slotted or a djustable upright frames with footplates, nominal 42 inch x 96 inch high. Contractor shall mechanically anchor footplates to the floor. Typical pallet rack unit. c. Fencing: Furnish and install galvanized chain link fencing material (minimum 11 gauge, 2 in ch mesh, Fed. Spec. - RR-F-191/1D) with 1-1/2 inch minimum galvanized vertical posts and top/bottom rails, corner and end components, anchored to the concrete slab in the configuration shown on the attached drawings. Furnish and install hinges and single/d ouble swing gates (nominal 4 feet x 7 feet) with door hardware (latch and keyed lock). Fencing doors cannot have padlocks or chains. Provide individual keys (3 each) and a master key (3 each) that opens all locks within the storage area. Nominal 8 feet hig h fencing = approximately 84 linear feet. Nominal 12?????? high fencing = approximately 58 linear feet. 3. PERFORMANCE PERIOD. All material and installation shall be completed within 45 calendar days from the contract award. The building is available from 0800-1700 Monday thru Friday, except federal holidays.
