- Description
- Contractors are being sought for shuttling motor vehicles owned by the U S Postal Service. Contractors must provide personnel and equipment. The service is to be provided on a NATIONAL basis. Therefore, prospective contractors must have capabilities to provide this service on a national basis or the ability to obtain the services. The primary purpose of the shuttles is to bring vehicles from the Vehicle Post Offices (VPO) to the Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF) for performance of preventative maintenance, repair/replacement of major vehicle components or body repair. The majority of vehicle types (approx 144,000) to be transported are Long Life Vehicles (1/2 ton), Flex Fuel Vehicles (FFV ? ? ton), minivans. This group of vehicles is normally shuttled 1, 2, 3 or 4 units at a time. The U S Postal intends to make one award.
