- Description
- The requirement is to accomplish the Group A Procurement and Production Support (GAPPS) portion of the B-52 Avionics Midlife Improvement (AMI) production program. The following supplies are intended to be provided: Production, assembly, and delivery of approximately 80-100 B-52 Avionics Midlife Improvement (AMI) Group A hardware kits and Survivability and Vulnerability Box modification kits. Technical support throughout aircraft modification. Production, assembly, and delivery of modification kits for the B-52 Bombing Navigation System Trainer and Radar Test Sets. Engineering support during trainer upgrades. Update of courseware and conduct of initial aircrew and maintenance personnel training. Development and update of AMI Time Compliance Tech Orders (TCTOs) and Technical Orders. Engineering support and deficiency correction for TCTO/Kit Verification. Drawing and documentation updates. Logistics, support equipment, provisioning, and system safety support. Engineering support during the B-52 nuclear certification process. Identification and resolution of Diminishing Manufacturing Sources issues. Note 22; The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement of submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Note 26; Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice. AT THIS TIME BOEING IS THE ONLY KNOWN SOURCE THAT CAN SATISFY GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENTS. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (17-DEC-2003).
