Description
NASA/GRC has a requirement for the procurement for An ignition and value control unit consisting of: Qty 1/each Variable Ignition System Qty 8/set Igniters and Lead Qty 2/set Spare plugs and leads With the following specifications: -- 8 spark plugs - Unison part number 9072185-1 port geometry -- 1/2 Joule @ 50Hz and 1/4 Joule @ 100Hz -- Single spark, all 8 plugs firing simultaneously -- 8 channels of 5 V TTL control signals at 100Hz -- Driver software compatible with a Windows-based PC -- A non-arching unit suitable for use in a hydrogen atmosphere -- 8 sets Leads -- 2 sets Plugs NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Unison Industries, Jacksonville, FL. The equipment and software being purchased must be compatible with existing Government owned hardware and software. Existing hardware and software was exlusively developed for GRC by Unison Industries. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. The Authority For Other Than Full and Open Competition is 10 U.S. C. 2304(c)(1). Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 06/18/04. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
