Description
Demolition of existing and abandoned utilities including sanitary and storm sewer, concrete and asphalt roadways, concrete curbing, landscaping, metal and wood fencing, security gate equipment, masonry signage, freestanding signage, street lighting, signage lighting, gatehouse and visitors center buildings of approximately 2500 S.F. of residential type construction. Existing residential housing demolition as required for the Main Gate Reconfiguration, shall be performed by Sheppard Air Force Base. N ew construction shall be required for extension/relocation of existing utilities including sanitary and storm sewer, concrete and asphalt roadways, concrete curbing, landscaping, metal fencing, security gate equipment, force protection equipment, street li ghting, building lighting, signage lighting, a gatehouse of approximately 1000 S.F. with a covered canopy of approximately 4000 S.F. and visitors center of approximately 3200 S.F. Gatehouse and visitors center shall be of residential type construction con sisting of concrete slab on grade, metal stud/steel structure, standing seam metal roof, brick/EIFS exterior finishes and aluminum storefronts and glazing. Visitor center parking shall be constructed of asphalt and hold 30 cars. Additional asphalt parkin g and drive areas shall be required for vehicle inspections and oversized vehicles. Gate house shall have four drive thru lanes. Concrete entrance drive shall be three lanes wide and able to stage approximately 120 cars. Concrete exit drive shall be two lanes wide. A Preproposal Conference and site visit for this project is scheduled for July 9, 2004, at 10:00a.m., CDST, at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. Passes to enter the base will be available at the Pass & ID building located at the Main Gate. A picture identification (current driver's license) will be required for all personnel entering the post, along with proof of insurance and vehicle registration. Only those representatives who have registered by name as per the note below will be allowed en trance to the base. Bring with you a copy of this solicitation and this notice. Vehicles are subject to search. Please plan your trip accordingly. The preproposal conference will convene at 10:00a.m., CDST, in the Conference Room, Building 1402 (Base Ci vil Engineering), located on the north side of 9th Avenue. NOTE: Prospective offerors who plan to attend the conference MUST provide, by facsimile, a list of names and titles of representatives, not to exceed three (3) per offeror, who will attend the co nference NO LATER THAN 11:00a.m., July 7, 2004. The list should be transmitted to RANDY BRATCHER, fax number 918-669-7495. Estimated cost range of this project is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Plans and specifications will be available on/or about July 1, 2 004, and will be provided on Compact Disk (CD-ROM). THE NUMBER OF CD-ROMS WILL BE LIMITED TO ONE (1) PER FIRM. Plans, specifications, and planholders lists will not be provided in a printed hard copy format.
