Description
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) / Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center (JSC) has a requirement for Four Hundred Twenty-Nine (429) International Space Station (ISS) trophies to be given out as an award to recognize excellence in the Space Program. Three Hundred (300) trophies shall be delivered to Kennedy Space Center (KSC), John F. Kennedy Space Center, NASA, FL 32899-0001, Area Code 407-867-7110, and One Hundred Twenty-Nine (129) delivered to JSC, Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, NASA, 2101 NASA Parkway, Houston, TX 7058-3696 Area Code 281-483-0123 or 281-483-3111. These trophies shall be packaged for safety, not esthetics, color, and size is irrelevant--only protection. Scale: 1/200th, end state configuration of the International Space Station (ISS) Material/Dimensions: ISS: Silver or grey metal. Base: Not to exceed 6" X 8" with sufficient area for engraved mounting area of 4" by 1 1/2". Please note that engraving is not part of the requested quote. ISS mounting: Silver or grey 7? metal or clear posts. ISS to be fused/welded in one to three sections maximum, and attached together by fitted slots, or comparable solution, no removable small piece parts with the exception of the mounting posts Overall desktop award shall not be greater than 9 1/2" length, 7 1/2" width, and 8" depth. Configuration: (1) End state configuration/assembly complete that includes the Solar Power Platform (SPP), Node 3, Cupola on front of Node 3, Centrifuge Accommodation Module (CAM), and Russian docking module, Russian science modules and Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) and H2-Transfer Vehicle (HTV). ATV goes on back of Service Module. HTV at Node 2 nadir. (2) Progress on the bottom of the Research Module/Universal Docking Module (3) Keep modules parallel to wood base (4) Tilt alpha joint/solar arrays to approximately 45 degree angle (5) Ensure: a- Two radiator panels (each side) below each set of 4 solar arrays b- On Solar Power Platform - very top most solar array, only 4 panels instead of 8, 2 on each side c- 3 Pressurized Mating Adapters d- No Hab module e- No Emergency Rescue Vehicles, no X-38s f- Two Soyuz vehicles g- Z-1 h- Updated Russian segment configuration) i- No Progress M2 (Module Number) 'long' module j- Multi Purpose Logistics Module is optional This website below provides good general reference and dimensions: http://www.spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/images/station/models/index.html , however, for the requested desktop award configuration see the drawings at http://jsc-web-pub.jsc.nasa.gov/bd01/EPS/NNJ04069215Q This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin= . The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than Friday, June 18, 2004. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B".
