Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), NCHSTP, in Atlanta, GA is currently involved in a project to preserve the history and lessons of the U.S. Public Health Service’s Tuskeegee study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male (1932-1972). Prior phases of this preservation effort entailed the development of a Web site that included archival material from the study. Under the current project the Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center (THCRMCC) will seek to broaden public awareness of the Center and it programs, the syphilis study itself, and the ongoing poblem of syphilis. These activities will increase public awareness of the THCRMCC as an archival and syphilis resource and reference, and in turn, will enhance and improve the state of medical research and the health of citizens. The Government intends to negotiated on a sole source basis with the Tuskeegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center. This notice is issued for informational purposes only. Any interested party may submit a capabilities statement to be received in the contracting office no later than fifteen (15) days from the date of this announcement. Submit information to Brenda Goodwin, MS-1019, Reference: 000HCK17-2004-09408, DHHS/PHS/CDC, 1095 Willowdale Road, Morgantown, WV 26505. Award will be made under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000. The intent of this synopsis is to determine if any sources exist, therefore, no solicitation will be issued. If no responses are received within 15 days, award will be made to the Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center, Tuskegee, Alabama without further notices being issued. All responsible sources may submit information, which shall be considered by the Agency.
