- Description
- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 2 has a requirement for the fence rehabilitation. The project is located at Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, near Indiahoma, Oklahoma in Comanche County. The project involves approximately seven miles of the Refuge's big game interior and boundary fence at various locations. Specific elements of work include but may not be limited to the following. Clearing brush, trees and in some cases heavy grass growth along the existing fence a sufficient distance (" 6 feet) to allow replacement woven wire to be rolled out and properly stretched. Repair existing fence which may include removing clips or ties at posts, straightening woven wire that has been pushed up, buckled or damaged by bison or other objects and retying. Overlay new four foot wide or six foot woven wire over the existing fence with the bottom of the new wire as close to the ground as possible. Some gates will be overlaid with new woven wire also. Any low places under the fence will be filled with rocks or an extension flap of two foot woven wire (bottom apron) will be added. Replace any existing posts that have deteriorated significantly with similar size and type post. Repair existing barbed wire or replace sections that are broken or missing as needed. Install two additional strands of new barbed wire above and between the top to strands of existing barbed wire at three of the job sites. Overlay water gaps with new woven wire and replace float boards as needed. This solicitation is set-aside for small business. The NAICS code is 238990 with a size standard of $12.0. The estimated price range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The solicitation is a best value with the evaluation criteria of price, past performance, and technical approach. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available on or about July 2, 2004. It is anticipated that evaluation and award will be made on or about July 21, 2004.
