Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR intends to award a sole source contract modification to Northrop Grumman Field Support Services, Inc., 6017 New World Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32221-8140 for procurement of F-14 aircraft maintenance associated with Fighter Squadron VF-101 stationed at Naval Air Station, Oceana, VA. Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) as the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the F-14 aircraft is the only company that has the technical expertise and the access to the data/drawings to provide the maintenance services. NGC currently supports functions to augment organizational, intermediate, and depot level maintenance to meet transition requirements and unexpected surges in workload that results from equipment/hardware failures while generating repairs and modifications to the aircraft. Integration of these three levels of maintenance is critical during the phase out of the F-14 aircraft as it allows the one source with the expertise and documentation to meet transition requirements and unexpected surges in workload that results from equipment/hardware failures.
