Description
Amended to add the information that there was a freight charge in addition to the price given on the previous prices. This Solicitation is to establish a BPA (blanket purchase agreement) for a period of one year from the date of award. See attached Solicitation for more information. The destinations and quantities will be determined by on demand requisitions from various agencies. The quantities listed are not correct, as we have no way of knowing the quantities that will be requested for a BPA period. 1. NSN: 7240-00-160-0438 CAN, TRASH AND GARBAGE (STEEL): The can shall be designed for extra heavy-duty and is intended for use as a container for rubbish and garbage and shall have the following characteristics; Capacity - 10 gallons Bail - Included Outside diameter (top of can) - 14-13/16 ? 1/8 inch Can body thickness - 0.021 inch minimum Thickness of the bottom and top rim strip - 0.021 inch minimum Without cover The bottom and top rims of the can shall be reinforced with a steel band strip or be integral with a rolled edge or by any other commercial manufacturing method that will provide rigidity. The body of the can shall be corrugated and tapered to allow nesting. The can shall be hot-dip galvanized in accordance with ASTM A123 or ASTM A653, or electrodeposited in accordance with ASTM A879. Copies of ASTM standards may be obtained from ASTM, 100 Barr Harbor Drive, West Conshohocken, PA 19428-2959. Unit of issue is a bundle (BD) @ 6 each (EA) Product Conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this purchase description, conform to the producer?s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: The steel cans shall be packaged and packed to afford adequate protection against physical damage during shipment from the supplier to the first receiving activity. The pack shall comply with the rules and regulations applicable to the mode of transportation. The package shall be the same as that normally provided by the supplier. In the event a pallet or skid is used for shipping, the following notice shall apply: NOTICE: Due to the spread of oak wilt disease, all lumber used inside or outside a shipment must be BARK FREE. NOTICE OF SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR SHIPMENT TO EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES: Per Clause D-FSS-468, non-manufactured wood pallets and other non-manufactured wood package material used in shipments destined for ultimate delivery to or through a European Union (EU) country shall comply with the Emergency Measures (2001/219/EC) adopted by the Commission of the European Communities (CEC). Additionally, shipments delivered to DoD distribution facilities or freight consolidation points for eventual delivery to or through EU countries shall comply with DLA PROCLTR 02-17. MARKING: Shipments to GSA and other civilian agencies shall be marked in accordance with FED-STD-123. Shipments to the Department of Defense (DOD) shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. 2.
