Description
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts intends to award a fixed price contract for the maintenance and repair of the twenty-one (21) passenger elevators, three (3) freight elevators, three (3) wheelchair lifts and six (6) escalators located at 2700 F Street NW, Washington, DC. The period of performance will be a one-year base year with up to four-one year option years. The Contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labor, equipment, materials, tools, supplies, repair parts, to maintain and repair all elevators and escalators identified above. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the effective and economical performance and completion of service calls. The contractor shall also provide preventive maintenance functions, maintenance repairs, inspections, adjustments and tests of elevator equipment, controls and systems as specified. The contractor will be responsible for future modernization and/or construction of elevators, wheelchair lifts, and/or escalators; the contractor will be responsible for coordination with all other contractors. This project is unrestricted, and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 235950, Building Equipment and Other Machinery Installation Contractors. The entire solicitation will be available for viewing and downloading at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Proposers will be evaluated using the Request for Proposal (RFP) source selection procedures that result in award based on Best Value to the Government, price and technical factors considered of equal importance. The technical Factors to be addressed are: Previous experience in similar projects, Management Approach, Past Performance, and Small Business and Apprenticeship Subcontracting effort. The estimated solicitation release date is July 02, 2004. The estimated due date for proposals is August 13, 2004. A pre-bid site visit is anticipated, the schedule will be provided in the solicitation. Proposals shall be submitted to John F. Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts, 2700 F Street NW, Washington, DC 20566-0001; for express mail service (i.e., UPS, FedEx, etc.) use the same address. ALL CONTRACTUAL AND TECHNICAL QUESTIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING 10 DAYS PRIOR TO BID OPENING.
